Lessons from my dad
I learned a
lot from my dad
I learned
how to work and how to play – two very important parts of life!
I learned to
appreciate all types of music, and how to dance in the living room.
I learned
how to appreciate Christmas carols and how much I enjoy listening and singing
along with them.
I learned
how to paint the cabin, climb a ladder, do small repairs, play golf and bridge.
I also learned
the importance of exercise, and that it was more fun to do it with someone.
I learned
how to appreciate the woods, walk in the woods, target practice with rocks and
guns, how good ice cold spring water tastes, how to fish, and even how to jump
in the MUCK and rescue fishing lures.
I learned
how to appreciate ice cream and that it was okay to have it every night.
And I
learned how tasty peanut butter is – even though I like crunchy way better than
dad’s smooth.
I learned,
the hard way, not to lie. And I learned that it is okay to get excited about
things – and I loved when my dad got excited with me about things!
But most
importantly I learned how to be a friend, how to help others – and that life
was good!
Thanks dad
for the life lessons – rest in peace!
